BR 2-09: The Incredible Present

This story was a strange story.
Lily Mack lived with her granny. Her parents weren’t like other parents. They bought a balloon and set off “We’ll be back for Lily’s birthday!” The next day was her birthday. She wanted a telescope. Her birthday came. She sat up in surprise. Granny put her presents in a different. There were many balloons and notes at banister. They were a clue. She looked for here and there. Granny sat in a room. 3 presents were there! A book from Aunty Alice, a basket of smell soap from Granny, a box of writing paper from cousin Jo. Then, the last present from parents was. It was incredible. It was a small bag with a label. Ask for anything you want! wrote there. “Crayons, please!” So, They appeared. Then, she wrote a bet – making robot, a space buddy and, witch’s kitten, an enormous hand and so on. But ask for six things. All things were not complete. At the end, she wrote “parents.” So, her parents came back! She was very happy:) Dad broke the spell. All strange things recovered. Her parents were at home. Her parents and her lived together. Her parents became inventors.
It was great for her. I want this present, too.

BR 2-08: THE MONSTER GANG

I like the kind of this book. It was easy to read for me.
It was rainy day today. Ellie, Ben, Lee, Micky, Tas and Ruby were boring. All children gathered in Ellie’s room. They played their favorite things but they were free. Ellie suggested that she had a fantastic idea. It was a gang! They approved and drew their gang pictures and had each idea. The next morning, it was fine. Children changed each 6 monsters. All used in a tree house of Micky’s granddad. All clothes were very creative. A monster was hungry and prepared refreshments and drink. It distributed them to each monster. It found someone but one monster didn’t find. Who? Then, all people heard Ellie’s voice. 6 monsters have been already there. ????? She was with her dog, Goldie in downstairs. They went back in the tree house. So, a note left on the table….from Gang! One was a really gang!!!!!
This story seemed to be a dream. Children’s play were fun:)

BR 2-06: THE RANSOM OF RED CHIEF

I couldn’t expect this ending of this book, so I like this one.
Bill and Saw came the town to give some money. When they arrived at this town, “THE RANSOM OF RED CHIEF. Town of Summit have a nice day!” wrote. They tool a boy away with them. A boy’s name was Johnny, a son of the rich. He didn’t fear them at all. He was a naughty boy! He did children’s play with them. He enjoyed the time. One of the two was so tired…then was frighten the boy. Another one decided to demand a ransom. He wrote a letter and demanded $ 1500 as ransom. Then he received an answer. The content was “Give us $ 200. If so, you can escape while we will angry our child.” They paid $ 200 to Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer Dorset. Then they escaped. BR 2-05: Give us the Money

I think these pictures are comical. The first impression was good for me.
Adam Gray saw a nice dream and woke up. Today is boring Monday at the bank, He doesn’t like his job and he likes Mr. Smith, his boss. But he doesn’t want to be late for work. Every day doesn’t change. He met Mrs.B on his way to the bank. She said, “Your horoscope for holiday.” And “do something different today.” He didn’t believe it. He always goes left, but go right. Suddenly, he witnessed she was robbed a bag. He helped her and ran away with her bag and a gun. It was a scene in a drama. At the same time, burglars broke into a bank. A man of burglars and Adam Gray bumped. Their bags changed. Each people ran away. An actress and Adam Gray stopped because she didn’t need his help. She said that there was no money in the rucksack and there was just newspaper. They decided having the wrong bag. These two bags were exchanged when they were crash. They chased the two. Adam and a lady got on a car quickly. She asked him to call a movie supervisor. The car stopped in vacant land because there was no petrol. Burglars took back their bag. A movie worker filmed the scene. Adam was late for his job! Everyone laughed. Ha Ha Ha ;b If he lost a job, don’t worry. He was able to become a bank robber!
I was so excited. I finished to read this book sooner.

BR 2-04: SURVIVE!

This book is a book which I can choose ways.
Your name was Chris, and you were in a small plane. Then the engine made strange and the plane went down into one of the mountains on going across the Rocky mountain way. Next, you had to go to 20. You could choose the way which you like. You’ll find if you could survive by your choice. Your first choice will be “Your turn to the right or left.” There are some trees in your right and there is deep snow in your left. By the way, which choice do you do? If you turn to the right, you will……
You must go back. If you turn to the left, you must go to 15. In 25, you are safe because you land on the snow. Then I chose “You stay in the plane.” I go out and go down the mountain. I can take the coat, the banana, and the cigarette lighter. I light a fire in the trees and spend during a night. One my way to go the mountain in the morning, I find the tunnel and enter there. In the inner part, there is a big hole in the ground and an old rope in the hole. Here, I chose “You go down the rope.” So, I …
If I choose “you go back up the tunnel.”, I come to go into the rocky valley. Next, I walk down the mountain. For a while, I walk and see some strange fruit, I don7t eat the fruit because I seem to see the dangerous. Walking carefully onto the lake, the ice begins to move under your feet, so I go back and walk around the lake. Then I walk down the river and catch a fish. I can survive. It’s evening again. There’s a helicopter in the sky and I build a big fire, but I can’t see the helicopter soon. Next morning, I build another fire. So, I hear the helicopter again. It seems the smoke and lands on the snow. I am safe. I can survive.
We can choose many kinds of ways. It was very interesting! Could you survive? I could survive twice….

Time Joyce Grenfell
When I was a girl there was always time,There was always time to spare. There was always time to sit in the sun;And we were never doneWith lazing and flirting,And doing our embroidery,And keeping up our memory books,And brushing our hair,And writing little notes,And going on picnics,And dancing, dancing, dancing, dancing--When I was a girl there was always time to waste.Thank the Lord. When I was a young woman there was always time,There was always time to spare. There was always time to walk in the sun,And we were never doneWith going to weddings,Our own and our friends',And going to parties,Away at weekends,And having our childrenAnd bringing them up,And talking, talking, talking, talking--When I was a young woman there was always time to enjoy things.Thank the Lord. And when I was an elderly woman there was no more time,There was no more time to spare. There was no more time to sit in the sun,For we were never doneWith answering the telephone,And looking at the TV,And doing baby-sitting,And talking to our friends,And shopping, shopping, shopping, shopping,And washing-up, washing-up, washing-up,Writing letters, writing lettersRushing, Rushing, rushing,And we were always hurried,And we were never bored. When I was an elderly womanThere was never time to think.Thank the Lord. But now I'm an old old woman,So I want the last word:There is no such thing as time--Only this very minuteAnd I'm in it.Thank the Lord.

Poems

Clouds Gregory Djanikian
It was a test on clouds, Science I, Seventh grade, Mrs. Snyder, who, I remember, always wore dark colors. My fingers trembled, I couldn't keep A point on my pencil, and in the next row, John Carlson was getting all the answers. Cumulus, altostratus, cirrus. What was I dreaming of? Clouds. They reminded me of Iowa or Kansas, Or my notion of them, expanses of wheat, Big skies somewhere west of where I was, Somewhere with rural addresses, dogs Named "Blue" or "Jake," and railroad crossings, And a boy's river lazing through farm and pasture. Cirrus fibratus, cirrus uncinus, Altocumulus, cumulus congestus I was losing time, my answer sheet Was white as a cloud, and there was A scratching of pencils on paper. What was I after? Summer. A hillside. A cumulus sky driven by the breezes. Kites, and kite string humming in the air. Shouts, laughter, in the distance only. Cumulus humilis, cumulus fractus Time was up and we were let go And I reeled out to the playground lightened. There was the bluest sky and I saw Fibrous wisps converging into grey. "Cirrus spissatus," John Carlson announced From behind me, maybe to himself, And skipped away at ease with the world. All the way home, I spat out those names I'd learned one by one, cirrostratus nebulosus, Altocumulus undulatus, cirrocumulus, cumulonimbus, Until I was left with just "clouds," Something vague and inexact, but prevailing, Like some notion of happiness, Or longings without name.
I think it is wonderful feelings, ‘longings without name’.

Poems

The Snow Man Louis Mac Neice
His memory was shaped by forgetting Into a snowman, handful by handful; In the end two pebbles for eyes and a cherry wood Pipe clamped in the thin lipped mouth. But was this fellow really his past,This white dummy in a white waste? While the censor works, while the frost holds,Perhaps he will pass--but then he will pass. Yesterday was a dance of flakes Waltzing down, around, and up,But today is lull and smudge, today Is a man with a pipe that will not draw. Today is a legless day with head-on Idiot eyes, a stranded deaf Mute in a muted world. This lump Is what he remembered when he forgot, Already beginning to dribble. Tomorrow Comes the complete forgetting, the thaw.Or is it rather a dance of water To replace, relive, that dance of white?

To forget my memories, and that is existence of snow man. Then the existence of human.

Delight in Disorder Robert Herrick
A sweet disorder in the dress Kindles in clothes a wantonness : A lawn about the shoulders thrown Into a fine distraction :An erring lace which here and there Enthrals the crimson stomacher : A cuff neglectful, and thereby Ribbons to flow confusedly : A winning wave (deserving note) In the tempestuous petticoat :A careless shoe-string, in whose tieI see a wild civility :Do more bewitch me than when art Is too precise in every part.
